What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini is 5000-year-old technology that was brought to the West from India in the late 1960's. It is known as the 'Yoga of Awareness'. Quite simply, it is a complete system of wellness, which is made up of four components:

Repetitive movement

Breath

Mantra (the use of sacred syllables)

Meditation

It is a total workout for the mind, body and spirit, and it works by freeing up the flow of energy through the power points in the body, known as chakras, (literally 'wheels'). One of the best ways to describe chakras is as spinning vortexes. The 7 main ones are located at intervals along the spine. which each radiate at different energy frequencies. These are required to be in balance, if we are to experience health and happiness. Kundalini yoga balances the chakras! The result- a calm mind, a strong and healthy body and a release in tension and stress!

Your teacher, Kirsty Jandrell...

Hello! I’m so grateful to have this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Kirsty Jandrell.

I I discovered Kundalini Yoga some 13 years ago when I was at a particularly challenging life transition. I remember sitting in a blissful and energised state on the mat at the end of the practice and thinking, ``I know I've always loved yoga, but THIS is another level - I want more!!``.

It quite literally blew my mind!

I took it into my yoga classes and was delighted to see similar reactions from my students! I'm now thrilled to be able to bring this practice in an accessible form online, to anyone who has an interest in feeling uplifted, aligned, and at their optimal best, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually!
